In 1976 Mrs Darling received the MBE (Member of the British Empire) medal from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, in recognition of her services to education and Anglo-Chilean relations. Her tireless efforts displayed over seventeen years had not gone unnoticed.

Between 1976 and 1978 a 28-thousand square metre piece of land was bought in Avenida El Rodeo 12525, in La Dehesa, and later another, 70-thousand square metre plot was purchased only 200 metres away from the first one.
